Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about ATS treatment options, clinic locations, admissions and payment. Details differ by clinic — confirm with your chosen location.
Treatment
What is outpatient opioid treatment?
Outpatient treatment means you visit a clinic for care — such as medication, counseling and screening — and live at home rather than staying overnight. ATS clinics provide outpatient treatment for opioid use disorder.
What kinds of treatment does ATS provide?
Methadone and Suboxone medication treatment, plus individual and group counseling and other support. Each clinic’s page lists what that location offers.
Do ATS clinics provide counseling?
Yes. The site lists individual and group counseling at all six locations, as well as referrals and additional support services that differ by clinic.
Locations & admissions
Can I start treatment on the same day?
Yes. We offer same day intakes. Intakes are Monday–Friday, 5:30am–12:00pm. Call or walk in today.
What happens at an intake appointment?
An intake is an assessment with the clinic team, who will explain admission requirements and talk through treatment options. ATS has not published a step-by-step intake process — call your clinic for current details.
What information do I need to bring for intake?
The existing website does not list a complete requirements checklist. Call your clinic to get the current instructions.
Is the Contact Us form an appointment booking?
No. It asks an intake coordinator to contact you. For the fastest answer, call or walk in today.
How do I find the nearest clinic?
Visit the Locations page, use the map, and choose a clinic for its address and directions.
Hours
What are dosing hours?
These are the posted times to receive medication at a clinic. They may differ from office hours. Check the location page and confirm any changes by phone.
How are office hours different?
Office hours are when the clinic office is open, which can be longer than dosing hours. For example, weekday dosing at the Maryland clinics is listed 5:30–11:00 a.m., while offices are listed open until 1:30 p.m.
Payment
Does ATS accept insurance?
Maryland clinics list Medicaid, Medicare, Uninsured and Self-pay. Martinsburg Institute lists West Virginia Medicaid, Medicare and Self-pay. Confirm plan details directly with your clinic.
Does ATS accept Medicaid or Medicare?
Yes. Every clinic lists Medicaid (West Virginia Medicaid at Martinsburg Institute) and Medicare. Confirm your plan with your clinic.
Emergencies
What if this is a medical emergency?
Call 911. If you suspect an opioid overdose, give naloxone if available and call 911; stay with the person until emergency help arrives.
